Hey! It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself. I’ve got lots of new friends and made great new connections recently, so I’d like to say hi! Y’all. Have you ever had poison ivy? I haven’t but this past week all of the kids had it to varying degrees. This boy had it the WORST, and even required a visit to the doctor because of looming infection and the need, unfortunately, for steroids. We’ve been on a quest to rid out lives of modern medicine for a while... a slooooow slow while... but this is one of those moments I’m glad to have access to it. He was so happy to finally not be too swollen to see or eat (yes!!) that he said, “‘Mom you can post a picture of me on your Instagram. I’m so happy my face is almost back to normal.” 😩❤️😍 We now know so much about poison ivy, sumac, and oak though. So I guess that’s a plus! Allowing a picture to be posted was big coming from Mr.-Don’t-Post-Pictures-of-Me. I’m glad to share his handsome face whenever he allows it. ;) #byepoisonivy #poisonivysucks #schoolinreyes #unschoollife
The kids are picking dandelions so we can make tea and we’re gonna add some camomile and lavender to calm Ella’s worrying heart. We’ve been stuck at the house the past two days because Ella is worried about one of the chickens that the others aren’t very nice to. I’m convinced she’d let it sleep in the house if she could. Yesterday she cried the majority of the day for her, and today she’s better but anxious. I know the chicken will be fine, and while I’m enjoying my chickens I know they all came from the same flock and will probably work it out. She’s the ultimate collide of personalities with me, and even though she is difficult for me to understand, I’m convinced I’m becoming a better person by learning to co-exist with her personality that is the complete ying to my yang. #kidsarepeopletoo #kidshavefeelingstoo #unschooling #unschoolers #schoolinreyes

Crazy chicken! Here’s a cute boy and a puppy to give me a picture to update you all with. Last week we dealt with sick kids every. Day. Of. The. Week. If one wasn’t sick, another was. Two of my littles had fevers for daaays (yes, I need those extra letters) We came out of the sick-stupor yesterday and I celebrated with sleeping through the night. THEN, we got up and rushed around to get to a rescheduled co-op that I completely forgot we ended up just floating. The poor kids are troopers, though! The heater went out in the van and it’s currently 38* here, but none of them complained when I turned right around after driving 30 minutes from home, and headed black when I realized my mess up. 😂😂 #wewerecold #reallycold #schoolinreyes #ryderjames #unschooling #forgetfulmama
